position).
Qualifications Required: The candidates should have M.Sc./M.Tech.
degree in Geology/Applied Geology/Applied Geophysics or B.Tech. degree
with two years experience. Students with experience in water resources,
fluvial systems and/or remote sensing, GIS analysis will be given
preferences.
Nature of work:
JRF1 and JRF 2 (one each at Delhi University and IIT Kanpur) – field and
desktop based geomorphological mapping, remote sensing and GIS based
analysis, measurements in the laboratory and working with mathematical
models for hydraulics
JRF3 (IIT Kanpur) Flume based experiments and hydraulic model study
JRF4 (IIT Mumbai) GPS based field mapping, analysis of 3D surface
Duration: 3 years (renewable yearly)

Essential Qualification          :  1st  class M.Sc./M.Tech. degree in Geology/Geophysics  or allied                                               subject with consistently good academic record. This position is for an internationally experienced, technical 'Chief Geologist' to lead geologists, be

responsible for all aspects of geology in the Company and run its Geological Projects team

providing specialist support.

Ideally, the geologist will have obtained a thorough grounding across all GGRE disciplines with a

multinational oil company and have a comprehensive understanding of the use of geology in

Description of Wellsite Geologists
Reponsibilities:
Well-site Geologist is a representative of Company at the well-site
during operations. Wellsite Geologist will be on site during the
period from first cuttings returns until completion of final wireline
logging as requested by Company. Well-site Geologist is
responsible for the following:
• Well-site Geologist is responsible to examine, describe, log and
supervise the collection of all samples and core taken.
• Mud-logging: Well-site Geologist will supervise mud-logging
services, and ensure maximum useful output of geological data.
• Detect and record all hydrocarbon shows. Ensure all gas
detection and mud-logging equipment is calibrated and working
correctly.
• Evaluate all indications of over pressured zones and make
suitable recommendations.
• Making a quick look log interpretation and recommendation of
test interval, if required.
• Ensure correct data transmittal, copying, packaging and
distribution of all geological information, such as a wireline logs,
mud logs and pressure logs, cutting samples, cores, and fluid
samples.
• Make stratigraphic age determinations from drill cuttings where
possible and identify target formations and horizons compared
with previous drilling results.
• Correlate geological and biostratigraphic data with that of any nearby wells.
• Select casing points if required.
• Supervise / assist testing operations, if required.
Skills required for Wellsite Geologists
• BS Degree in Geology or equivalent
