Description

Reporting to the Principal Geologist, Data and Resources, the Resource Geologists will primarily be required to develop and produce resource estimates/evaluations, for both internal and external purposes (to JORC reporting standards).

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • The application of the health & safety system within all working areas
  • Resource modelling using both parametric and non-parametric estimation techniques
  • Monitoring and evaluating geological and assay data quality (QAQC)
  • Providing guidance to field staff on sampling and data collection pertaining to resource estimation
  • Liaising with field geologists to develop geological models
  • Resource and Mine Production Reconciliation studies
  • Evaluation of internal and external resource models
  • Preparation of periodic operational reports as required
  • Supervision of external consultants
  • Preparation of geological diagrams/figures
  • Preparation of annual and individual project work programs and budgets

The ideal candidate will have a university degree in Geology with ideally 4 years experience in geological modelling, resource development and resource modelling with experience in exploration and/or an open-cut operation. Experience in a range of commodities including gold and copper estimation and mine reconciliation studies as well as a strong working knowledge of mining software packages such as Datamine, Supervisor and acQuire would be desirable.
