Job Description
A nationally-recognized, Rocky Mountain Well Site Geology Company is actively seeking a Wellsite Geologist - Laboratory and Field Technician to join its growing team in Lakewood, Colorado.
Qualified applicants will offer an AS or BS Degree in Geology, Biology, Chemistry, Math, or Physics (or related environmental field) and have 3-5 years of experience working in well-site geology, environmental consulting (environmental lab support), oil and gas consulting and/or operations, and/or mudlogging. Ideal candidates will have experience both working in the lab and the field (this position conducts rock analysis, analyzing core to determine reservoir description parameters of porosity, permeability, and saturation).
This position will be responsible for sampling and analyzing material from unconventional oil and gas reservoirs. Specific responsibilities include the following:
- Perform routine laboratory tests to determine samples' chemical or physical characteristics.
- Read and understand all analysis and safety standards, including: ASTM, UOP, IP and other well-defined analytical standards and procedures.
- Assist senior laboratory personnel in setting up, adjusting, and operating lab equipment.
- Assist in or perform basic analytical tests from well-defined standards and procedures.
- Assist in calibrating, cleaning and sterilizing laboratory instruments.
- Prepare chemical solutions according to standard formulas.
- Attend training and pass appropriate examinations in petroleum, chemical and gas analysis, including Right-to-Know training, hazardous materials disposal, and other safety and compliance training required by applicable regulations.
- Understand/complete raw data sheets and make accurate entries into computer.
- Travel nationwide at times to support field efforts.
Travel: This position will require travel (approximately 40-60% of the time will be spent in the laboratory in Denver and the rest will comprise of field travel nationwide). Typical travel is up to two weeks at a time (spent entirely in the field - hotel/per diem projects) and then candidates return to the lab for another 6-12 weeks.
Candidates must offer a valid driver's license, offer a good driving record and be able to pass a drug screen. Candidates must also be home-based in the Denver area. Local candidates are preferred for this position.

Associates Degree, Previous experience in the field (sample collection), Valid Drivers License and clean MVR, Pre employment drug screen required, Extensive travel and overtime commitments are required
