Thiess India (a 100% subsidiary of Thiess) is in the process of establishing Thiess as the preferred provider of Integrated Mining and Construction Services that deliver maximum value to the Indian Mining Industry. Thiess Minecs
Thiess Minecs India Pvt. Ltd. (90% owned subsidiary of Thiess) has been recently awarded a project by one of India's Maharatnas, NTPC Limited (NTPC) to develop, construct & operate a 15 MTPA Coal Mining Project at Pakri Barwadih near Hazaribagh town in the State of Jharkhand. This $5.5 billion project involves the construction and/ or operation of the following facilities in addition to operating the mine for its entire life of more than 22 years:
1. A 3000 TPH Coal Handling Plant capable of storing 400,000 tonne of crushed coal (-50 MM) and despatching the coal through a series of overland conveyors which will be constructed by NTPC.
2. Mine Infrastructure including World class Heavy earth moving equipment workshops, stockyards for various types of spares and consumables, offices, welfare amenities, diesel storage & dispensing systems, bulk explosive plants, and associated installations.
3. A 13 Km long overland conveyor network and Rapid loading system discharging into Indian Railways System to be constructed by NTPC.
4. A self contained residential colony to house the Managers, Engineers and Staff required to construct, operate and maintain the above facilities.
5. All utilities required for the construction and operation of the above.

Mine Planner
Job Location: Kolkata (Calcutta)
Job Description: Primary Purpose
To provide mine planning services and technical support for tender preparation and existing operations. Ensure current operations have state of the art plans in place and that they are being followed.
KEY RESULT AREA
•Provide qualitative and quantitative data of the reserve and manipulate reserves to account for mining practices;
•Mining methods and selectivity, handling, blending and transport of coal;
•Create and maintain a schedule database in Xpac/Excel for excavation and dump sequence;
•Define the equipment and time resources required for the mine and report on requirements;
•Produce scheduling outputs for clients
•Provide Mine Planning inputs for tendering new business;
•Liaise with clients and estimating to provide necessary data for pricing.

Candidate Requirement
Qualification- B Tech/ M Tech Mining, Mine Planning from following engineering institutes in India :- (strictly)
a) IIT
b) ISM
c) BHU
d) BE Shibpur
e) Jadavpur University
Experience:-
5-10 years of exhaustive experience in Mine planning (Long term/Short term), Schedulling
Preferably having background of mining industry.
Knowledge of Mining softwares (Minex, Vulcan Xpac etc) is a must..
