We are seeking a technician to provide support for staff of the Mapping Section based at our Dunedin office. The successful candidate will primarily curate databases and rock sample collections and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data, and provide field support and logistics as required.
The successful applicant will have a degree, preferably in Earth Science or similar, and good computer skills including experience with MSWord, MSExcel and GIS software, preferably ArcGIS. Applicants need to have an understanding of scientific research process, and be able to demonstrate initiative, accuracy and attention to detail. Knowledge of and interest in New Zealand's natural environment is essential and preference will be given to candidates that are physically fit and have experience of the outdoors.
