Qualification: The candidates should be M.Sc., Ph.D. in Geology with specialization either in Palaeontology, Stratigraphy and Palaeoceanography or in Basin studies and Energy Resources.
Age Limit: The upper age limit is 45 years (relaxable for 5 years for SC/ST/Physically Handicapped/ Female candidates. All thing being equal, SC/ST candidates will be preferred as per GOI rules).
Fellowship: Rs. 12,000/- +HRA
Application on plain paper giving name, permanent and correspondence address, names of father and mother, telephone no. and email address (if available), details of educational career (starting from High School or equivalent) along with attested copies of all mark-sheets & certificates and details of any research or other experience etc., if any, should reach within 21 days of the advertisement, to the Coordinator CAS-I, Department of Geology, Faculty of Science, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi-221 005.
The candidates who have already applied for the post vide advertisement in Employment News, 15-21 January, 2011, (EN 42/16) need not apply again.
No TA/DA will be paid if called for interview.
