Job Description:
My client is a joint venture operating in the northern part of the prolific Malay Basin.
They currently have an opportunity for a Senior Geophysicist to join their integrated team be based in Kuala Lumpur.
You will be responsible for:
*Providing a wide range of geophysical support and technical advice to the various asset teams and appropriate project/operations teams
*Conducting seismic interpretation and mapping
*Leading seismic acquisition and processing projects
*Assisting in the formulation and execution of agreed technical programmes for each asset
*Providing geophysical input into new business opportunity evaluations
*Mapping and depth conversions for input into 3D models and volumetrics
*Preparation of relevant parts of well programmes in partnership with drilling and reservoir engineers
*Assisting in preparation of appraisal and development programmes
*Application of appropriate geophysical technology to aid in reservoir characterization
*Assessing subsurface risk for opportunities
The successful candidate should have:
*20+ years, operator work experience, working in a similar role within a challenging and diverse asset management environment
*A BSc or MSc in Geology/Geophysics or other related science
*Strong background in operational geophysics, acquisition, processing and interpretation
*Strong working knowledge of Petrel, 3D visualization softwares
*Ability to lead and motivate a small team of geoscientists
