The Company:
Is an independent international operator. Their office in the South East of the UK is looking to recruit an Exploration Geologist to work primarily on near field exploration of their current UKCS assets.
The Role:
We are looking for an Exploration Geologist with responsibility to include
• Evaluate exploration opportunities.
• Interpret a variety of geological data and integrate into the seismic interpretation to produce a complete subsurface evaluation.
• Work with the New Ventures team to identify and recommend potential New Ventures exploration opportunities and participate in on-site technical evaluations.
• Identify and develop opportunities in priority focus areas using business contacts and competitive business information sources.
• Co-ordinate geological work and monitor outsourced geological projects.
• Provide geological input for area and well reviews, and maintain updated geological interpretations and maps.
• Prepare well programmes.
• Utilize risk analysis and concept software
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
You must have experience of
• basin and play analysis, prospect generation, and volumetrics/risking.
• integrating geophysical, geological and engineering data
• geoscience concepts, to include structural, facies and sequence stratigraphic analysis.
• risk/uncertainty assessments.
• Strong analytical skills and commercial understanding.
Due to current visa restrictions you must alreadyhave the right to live and work in the UK
Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Ability and willingness to travel internationally on a periodic basis.
• Specialist skills in stratigraphy, petrophysics, or basin modelling an advantage.
• Proficient in the use of geoscience software: Landmark Interpretation suite, Petrel, 3D Visualization (GeoProbe), ArcGIS, MS Office, and mapping software
