SENIOR GEOLOGIST, Calgary, Canada

Position Overview  The Appraisal Team in the Oilsands Group has an opening for an Intermediate/Senior Geologist to work on its Corner property. The Appraisal Team is responsible for G&G evaluation of potential future development areas as well as competitor analog projects. The Corner property (The Company  25% WI), located southwest of The Company 's Cottonwood leases, is currently in the process of a multi-year evaluation, leading to a potential oilsands recovery project.  The successful candidate will have the geological responsibility for The Company 's interest in this project as well as selected analog projects.    Compressed Work Schedule  This position is eligible for The Company 's Compressed Work Schedule program (CWS). This program provides flexibility in work hours to assist employees in balancing their work and personal lives. CWS participants work eight hours and 40 minutes per day and earn two Fridays off per month, for a total of 24 days off annually.    Job Duties/Responsibilities  The Company 's geological representative on the Corner oilsands project; Produce a complete set of updated maps for the Corner lease, including original bitumen-in-place and HCPV; Monitor and evaluate the operator's plans and make recommendations to management regarding The Company 's participation in the project; Update The Company 's maps with new corehole results; Participate in the selection of corehole locations, well pads, and horizontal trajectories; Conduct geological studies on selected oilsands analog pools; Work with other disciplines (engineers, petrophysicists, geophysicists) to identify efficient practices to apply to The Company  oilsands projects; Contribute to the Oilsands Group's overall knowledge of the geology of the McMurray Formation through mapping experience, related field trips and courses, and discussions with G&G peers.    Education/Experience  Bachelor of Science in Geology required; 4 to 10 years of development experience; Experience in clastics interpetation; Operational experience would be an asset; Working knowledge of Microsoft suite, Accumap Petrel, Geoframe experience would be an asset; Professional Designations and Memberships: AAPG, CSPG.  CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS  Close Date:  01/30/2012
