Senior Mine Geologist, Brazil

Our Client - An Australian-managed, ASX-listed minerals company squarely focused on developing projects into mines in Chile, Brazil and Peru.
Job Description -
  • Day to day supervision of a team of mine geologists, samplers and drilling contractors.
  • Maintaining effective grade control, ore block definition and resource growth.
  • The preparation and presentation of regular reports documenting mine production, grade control, reconciliation and drill results.
  • Contribution to on-going development of resource and reserve estimates.
  • Working closely with the mining department to ensure timely supply of block models for short and medium term mining planning.
  • Ensuring adherence to the safety policy in practice.
  • Providing mentoring to junior staff.
  • Maintaining and improving geology data collection systems.
  • Planning and monitoring drill programs.
  • Supervising QAQC practices for grade control sampling and assaying.
  • Encouraging and supporting appropriate workplace attitudes and behaviours.

Candidate Requirements -
  • Fluent English verbal and written communication skills.
  • +10/15 years' experience in gold.
  • Self-motivation and an ability to work as part of the team.
  • Experience in taking a project into production and understanding mining and processing issues, costs and drivers.
  • Experience in narrow vein deposits within greenstone terrains.
  • Experience in open pit mining. 
  • Experience in resource estimation, sampling theory, grade control, QAQC, ore tracking and reconciliation. 
  • Experience in contractor management (analytical and drilling).
  • Experience in Surpac, Fusion or Acquire Databases.
  • Degree in Geology.
