BP is currently seeking well planning / operations geologists to work in Subsurface New Well Delivery teams. Successful candidates will be required to support or lead the subsurface planning of wells and be the geological lead in decision making and communication for the drilling of wells. Candidates should have broad experience across a range of geological settings, good grasp of drilling practices and well control procedures for a variety of well types, and excellent communication and coaching skills.
The emphasis of the role is on well planning, integration, and operational support from an office setting, rather than at the wellsite.

Qualifications:
Minimum of a BSc Degree or equivalent in Geology or related sciences

A broad geoscience background is required, with a passion for working in operational settings. Strong communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with a broad range of technical specialists, external services, and partners, are necessary, as is the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to create integrated products.To be considered for this role, applicants must have:- experience in pore pressure prediction and analysis- experience in well planning and operations geology in the oil and gas industry, in a variety of geological and geographic settings- interpretation skills of real-time geological/petrophysical data and drilling information
