Central Road Research Institute is one of the constituent unit of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi, which is a public funded premier R&D organization of the country striving to generate new knowledge, products, processes and technologies in diversified fields of Science and Engineering. Central Road Research Institute (CRRI), New Delhi is involved in fundamental and applied research on various aspects of roads and road transportation covering wide spectrum of areas such as Pavement Engineering and Materials, Geotechnical Engineering, Bridge and Structural Engineering, Traffic and Transportation Engineering including Safety and Environment, Road Development Planning and Management besides Instrumentation for Highways and Bridges. The Institute has been providing wide range of R&D solutions and consultancy services to the Industry towards reducing the cost of vehicular operations, improving the quality of roads, safe roads and efficient transportation etc. The Institute is a nationally and internationally recognized centre for training of Highway and Transportation professionals. We are looking for the young, dynamic and talented professionals for the following positions:-
Position: Scientists – 14 Posts (07-UR, 04-OBC, 02-SC, 01-ST) (out of these 14 posts, two posts are reserved for Persons with Disabilities)
Scale of Pay: Rs.15600-39100 with Grade Pay of Rs.6600*(PB-3)
Age limit: 32 years.
(*The Selection Committee depending upon the performance of the candidate may choose to place the candidate in any of the Grade Pay within Pay Band-3 subject to meeting the minimum eligibility criteria)
1. Area: Pavement Evaluation.
No. of posts: 02 (Two)
Post Codes: S-01 to S-02 (Post code S-01-UR) (Post code S-02- OBC and to be filled up by Visually handicapped Person only)
Qualifications: M.E./M.Tech in Highway Engg. /Transportation Engg. or Ph.D in Civil Engg.-Highway/Transportation Engg.
Job Requirements: Ability to carry out R&D studies and consultancy projects on all aspects of pavement evaluation such as road failure investigations, maintenance and rehabilitation, pavement management system and road asset management.
2. Area: Rigid Pavements
No. of Posts: 02 (Two)
Post Codes: S-03 to S-04 (Post code S-03- UR) (Post code S-4- OBC)
Qualifications: M.E./M.Tech in Highway Engg. /Transportation Engg. or Ph.D in Civil Engg.-Highway/Transportation Engg.
Job Requirements: Ability to carry out R&D studies and consultancy projects on all aspects of rigid pavements such as design, construction, materials, maintenance and rehabilitation.
3. Area: Flexible Pavements
No. of Posts: 02 (Two)

Essential Qualifications: M.E./M.Tech in Highway Engg. /Transportation Engg. or Ph.D in Civil Engg.-Highway/Transportation Engg.
Job Requirements: Ability to carry out R&D studies and consultancy projects on all aspects of flexible pavements such as materials, design, construction and maintenance.
4. Area: Geotechnical Engineering
No. of Posts: 01 (One)

Essential Qualifications: M.E./M.Tech in Geotechnical Engg./Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engg. or Ph.D. in Civil Engg.-Geotechnical Engg.
Job Requirements: To carry out R&D studies and consultancy projects on all aspects of geotechnical engg. including slope stability, ground improvements, foundation engg., retaining walls, landslides and mitigation measures, waste materials, stabilization techniques, drainage and geo-textiles etc.
5. Area: Road Development Planning & Management
No. of Posts: 01 (One)
Post Codes: S-08 (Post code S-08- UR and is to be filled up by Hearing Impairment Handicapped Person only)
Essential Qualifications: M.E./M.Tech in Highway Engg. /Transportation Engg./Geoinformatics/Remote Sensing or Ph.D in Highway Engg./Geo informatics/Remote Sensing
Job Requirements: To carry out R&D studies and consultancy projects on all aspects of road development planning, geographical information system and allied aspects.
6. Area: Bridges & Structures
No. of Posts: 02 (Two)
Post Codes: S-09 to S-10 (Post code S-09-UR) (Post code S-10- OBC)
Essential Qualifications: M.E./M.Tech in Structural Engg./ Structural Dynamics/Earthquake Engg. or Ph.D in Civil Engg.-Structural Engg./Earthquake Engg.
Job Requirements: Ability to carry out R&D studies and consultancy projects related to Bridges and Structures including analysis and design of bridges, health assessment of bridges, strengthening/rehabilitation of bridges, performance evaluation of bridges, bearings and expansion joints, earthquake engg. and composite materials.
7. Area: Transportation Planning and Environment

Qualifications: M.E./M.Tech in Transportation Engg./Transportation Planning or Ph.D in Civil Engg.- Transportation Engg./ Transportation Planning.
Job Requirements: Ability to carry out R&D studies and consultancy projects in the area of comprehensive traffic and transportation studies, transport modelling, traffic management studies, environmental impact studies and air and noise pollution monitoring.
8. Area: Traffic Engineering and Safety
